About Me

You're probably wondering how I came to make this cursed fungi page

  1. Reading about the old internet and thinking "wow, what the geezers predicted sounds terrible, I'm glad internet doesn't require me to learn how to code
  2. Finding sites that cater to my interest
  3. Getting stuck on FB for a while and realizing I hate it
  4. Watching my beloved sites disappear and my forum's images get tanked by photobucket's policies
  5. Discovering the Wayback Machine
  6. Discovering fandom spaces and seeing non-scary website guts for the first time while making a tumblr
  7. Memorizing basic html tags for word processing and links so I can better comment on Ao3
  8. Finally figuring out how old forums work
  9. Realizing that the geezers were right
  10. Realizing it's not too late to avoid the excesses they predicted
  11. Deciding that even though I'm actively repulsed by learning coding languages, I've gotta start somewhere and I finally have a project to kickstart me into learning.
  12. Making a neocities page

And then...

  • Wondering how each line works and why some lines are indented...ease of use so you know everything's nested? just because? some technical reason I don't know about?
  • Being grateful to whoever made this tutorial because I bet it took a lot of coding...my preview was showing up even when I messed up.
  • Getting slightly annoyed that the tutorial rejected my ordered list because it wanted an unordered list but in light of the aforementioned bullet point, forgiving them
  • Getting very annoyed again because the tutorial is telling me to name my link and I have absolutely
  • Realizing that maybe if I started a new line every time, this wouldn't look like an incomprehensible block of color
  • Realizing the tutorial froze up because it couldn't deal with the space inbetween words in my link name
  • Forgiving it anyways and wondering about indented lists or ordered lists nested within ordered lists...
